SUMMER “3 on 3” YOUTH
version of the game is played cross-ice on 1/3 of the ice surface with 3 players
playing against 3 players at any time.
This affords each player more puck touches, more scoring chances and
more ice time.
consists of 1 game session per weekend plus 1 skill development session
each week. The cost to participate
in the entire summer program is $225.
Players can also participate in individual practice or game sessions
for the single-session fee of $20.
This program has separate divisions for
Mite, Squirt, Peewee and Bantam players.
the focus of this program is on skating and puck-handling skills, no
checking is allowed in any of the divisions. All levels will practice together
630-740PM on Tuesday and Thursdays where we will split the ice up into age
appropriate and skill level appropriate stations. Players can choose to attend either the
Tuesday or Thursday practice each week.

LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY PROGRAM
Clinic is our “Introduction to Hockey” program designed to introduce young
beginners to the game of hockey. It
is intended for players age 10 and under.
The focus of the program is on skill development in order to prepare
the players to move into one of our house league or travel hockey
programs. The program is coached by
our staff of professional instructors, assisted by local travel hockey
players. Sessions are on Monday and
Sunday afternoons on “The Pond”.

Come play hockey like a Girl! The “Girls Only” Beginner Clinic is our hockey

U12 Girls Development Program – Winter 2017 Session info
Have fun, get some
exercise, and improve your game with help from professional
instructors! This program is
intended for players 17 years old and older who wish to improve their
individual skills and overall knowledge of the game. The clinic is designed
as an enjoyable and rewarding way to stay in shape and improve your hockey
skills. The skills that are addressed are: skating, stick handling,
shooting, and positioning. The clinic will include scrimmages and is
designed for beginning to intermediate hockey players. Skaters are grouped
by experience and skill level.
All participants should have basic skating skills (Forward &
Backward Skating, forward crossovers, and hockey stop).

2017-2018 season, Union Thunder will now be a member of the NJYHL (NJ Youth
Hockey League) which will offer a league structure for some of our teams.

TRAINING RINK IS UP AND RUNNING!!!
We’ve added a new training rink
(the “Pond”) – 40’ by 80’. Located in the back of the building, in the room
that has been Soccer Room 1 for the last 14 years, this new facility will
be primarily used by our Mite and Squirt programs. But we’ll also be adding a variety of
other programs on this rink over the next few months, including time for
hockey birthday parties. Ice time
